Jackie was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan and has lived in and around Calgary for the past 35 years. Jackie worked in the corporate world as an HR professional for 25 years, but fitness has always been a big part of her life.
Jackie started mat Pilates 12 years ago and then moved on to apparatus work 5 years ago. She has always enjoyed working with people and was inspired by her first apparatus instructor, Kathleen Keller to pursue her Pilates teaching certification. Jackie has completed the PCI (Pilates Core Integration) teacher training program, which is the traditional Pilates Method and is based out of Tempe, AZ. Jackie has completed over 600 hours of observing, assisting and teaching. She is certified in matwork, reformer, chair, small barrel, and cadillac. Jackie has also participated in the Pilates made simple workshop with Benjamin Degenhardt.
Jackie is a caring, encouraging teacher with a keen eye for movement and attention to detail which helps students improve their body awareness and movement. She is committed to ongoing education and loves to share this knowledge and experience with people of all ages and abilities. Jackie retired from her corporate job and now owns Centre Pilates. Jackie lives in Cochrane and is married with 2 grown children.
Becky Cryne – Teacher & Doula
Becky has been involved in the fitness industry since 2003. Having worked in many different avenues of the fitness industry including yoga, group fitness, and personal training, she has found that Pilates is truly her PASSION! Introduced to her first Pilates mat class at a fitness club she managed back in 2004; she was instantly hooked. She completed her Classical Matwork certification in 2005. Later that year while backpacking in Australia she experienced the Pilates reformer for the first time and immediately fell in love with the apparatus! No sooner did the plane touch down in Canada and Becky headed to Vancouver to pursue her STOTT Pilates certification. Since then she has successfully completed her full training; which includes Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, and Injuries and Special Populations. Becky has also participated in the Pilates made simple workshop with Benjamin Degenhardt., Becky has trained as a CFP Pre and Post Natal specialist, Yoga for Fertility Instructor, and Doula. As a result of these experiences she is passionate about working with women to heal from pregnancy and birth. Becky loves the way Pilates makes her body feel and is passionate about sharing that experience with others. “Pilates has taught me how to live in my body. I love that simple movements; when performed with precision, control and concentration; can be so challenging!”
Becky has a thirst for knowledge and is constantly reading, researching, and delving further into the history, methods, and inspiration that is Joseph Pilates. Pilates aside she stays active chasing after her three young daughters and along and alongside her husband; exploring all the natural wonders Alberta has to offer!
Jody Gudmundson – Teacher
Jody discovered Pilates 4 years ago after suffering chronic injuries related to years sitting behind a desk and gym overdose. Pilates emphasis on bringing length to muscles and spine has brought great improvement to her posture and a love of Pilates. Jody is a student of Tanis Fleming’s first teacher training class at Centre Pilates. Jody has participated in the Pilates made simple workshop with Benjamin Degenhardt.
Jody believes Joseph Pilates when he said you are only as young as your spine is flexible, she is passionate about helping you gain and retain your youth.
